Season 21 All-Star Recap

The All-Star break has come and gone for Season 21, and we have all of the coverage right here!

In the American League, Delino Santana of Jacksonville and Sidney Forbes of New York each made their 7th All-Star team to lead the way.  There were 11 first-time All-Stars on the AL squad, with 14 different teams represented.  Boston, Jacksonville and New Britain had the most with five All-Stars each.

In the National League, three Buffalo players are now in double digit All-Star appearances: Jeremy Randall (12th), Jimmie Soto (11th), and David Silva (10th).  Also in the rare air of double digit appearances is Oklahoma City's Matty Posada, making his 11th All-Star team.  Other notables include Honolulu's J.C. Ganzel (9th appearance) and yet another Buffalo player, Albert Valenzuela (7th appearance).  Despite the large veteran presence, there were still 12 first-time All-Stars on the NL Squad, with 12 teams represented overall, with Richmond having the most All-Stars with 5.

Season 21 Power Rankings #1

The regular season is well on its way in Season 21, so it's time to check in with the first edition of the Power Rankings!  There's a change at the top, as New Britain reclaimed the #1 ranking they held all of last season after being bumped from the spot in the Preseason Rankings.  They are off to a blazing start.  At #2, they claimed they were in full rebuild mode, but it looks like that may have changed as Honolulu is up 18 spots to #2.  Preseason #1 Richmond comes in at #3, followed by Oklahoma and Detroit to round out the top 5.

Now let's look at the biggest climbers and biggest falls since the Preseason rankings!

Biggest Climbers: #2 Honolulu (+18), #17 Boston (+15), #11 Helena (+10), #8 Jacksonville (+6), #22 Burlington (+6), #24 Oakland (+6)

Biggest Falls: #12 Buffalo (-9), #31 St. Louis (-9), #9 Chicago (-7), #19 Huntington (-7), #23 Seattle (-7)

Season 21 Preseason Power Rankings

A new season will begin soon in Kenny Powers, as spring training rolls along, so it's time to kickoff Season 21 blog coverage with the Preseason Power Rankings!  For some, the rankings will establish high expectations to live up to, for others it will provide bulletin board material to prove their ranking wrong (it has happened before, believe it or not!)

At the top of the rankings is your defending champion Richmond.  No, they don't get it automatically for winning last season's World Series, our rating system likes their roster the best.  The next 3 teams are all from the NL, Chicago, Buffalo and Oklahoma City.  It looks like the NL is going to be quite tough this season, if our rating system is on point (highly debatable).  Rounding out the top 5 is New Britain, relinquishing the #1 spot after seven straight times holding the top spot.  If it's any consolation, they're still the top team in the AL.

Good luck to everyone this season, whether it be in living up to your high ranking, our proving you were ranked far too low!  Here are the complete rankings!
