Season 32 Hall of Fame Voters Guide

Season 32 Hall of Fame Voters Guide

There is a backlog of qualified Hall of Fame Candidates and as a league we need to vote in 5 players this season because there are many more on the horizon.  Here are my top 5 Candidates for the Hall and a few additional players that deserve to be inducted in the near future.

My Ballot

Delino Santana SS
Delino was a 13 time All Star who won 3 Gold Gloves and 5 Silver Slugger awards.   He was a key member of the Little Rock Urban achiever team that won the world series in season 17.  Delino Santana is the all time leader at SS for Putouts, Assists, and Double Plays., he is also 2nd All time in Plus Plays by a SS with 250 plus plays in his illustrious career.  Delino's glove alone him Hall of Fame worthy but he was also an outstanding hitter. For his career Delino hot for a .294 average with 234 home runs  357 doubles and 968 RBI while scoring 1327 runs.  His career on base percentage is .397 and his career slugging pct is .424 giving him a career ops of .821.  We all know that those numbers are exceedingly rare for a Gold Glove SS and he is definitely worthy of being a 1st Ballot Hall of Famer.

Albert Valenzuela 2B
Albert is arguably the best combination of power and speed that Kenny Powers world has ever seen.  Albert Valenzuela is a 9 time All Star who also won 7 Silver Slugger Awards.  Albert is 1st all time in  Career Doubles with 594 and Runs Scored with 1784 runs.  He is 2nd All time in Runs Created with 1857,  and tied for 4th in all time stolen bases with 717 and triples with 81.  He finished his career with a .285 batting average with those 594 doubles 81 triples and 416 Home Runs scoring 1784 runs Stealing 717 bases with an on base percentage of .374 and a .508 Slugging percentage giving him a career ops of .882.  Even though Albert failed to win a gold glove in his career he is the All time leader by a 2nd baseman in Putouts, Assists and Double Plays. Albert's had several great seasons the best of which might have been season 19 when  he had a .328 batting average with 44 doubles 7 triples 27 home runs stealing 44 bases, scoring 136 runs with 118 runs batted in. Albert was 2nd in MVP voting a record 5 times and was in the top 5 in voting 9 times.  Albert Valenzeula is obviously also worthy of being inducted this season as a 1st Ballot Hall of Famer.

David Silva P
David was a 12 time all star, 3 time Fireman of the year and possibly the best closer of all time in Kenny Powers world.  He is 2nd all time in saves with 712 and helped lead Buffalo to a World Series Title in Season 11.  David held his oppenents to a .225 batting average with a .286 on base percentage  a .336 slugging percentage a 1.14 whip and 2.88 era.  Appearing in 1283 games David had 1331 innings pitched, allowed only 1130 hits while sriking out 1190 batters.  In season 20 he had perhaps his finest season allowing opposing hitters only a .171 batting average a 0.87 whip and a 0.95 era while getting 38 saves.

Valerio Baez P
Valerio Won 2 World Series rings won 3 Cy young awards and was a 10 time All Star.  Valerio won 20+ games 4 times and won 15+ games 10 times in his career.  With a lifetime record of  260 wins vs 118 losses Valerio allowed his opponents to only hit for a .232 batting average, a .295 obp. , a .345 slg. with a 1.17 whip and a 3.18 era. His .688 winning percentage is 5th all time.  In the season 19 postseason Baez was dominant appearing in 5 games for the Frothing Walruses going 4-0 with a 0.94 era holding opposing hitters a .165 batting average.  Overall had a 21-14 record in the postseason with a 3.78 era.  Baez is also clearly Hall of Fame worthy.

Justin Jordan P
Justin is a 2 time Cy Young Award winner who made 8 All Star appearances.  Justin is #3 all time with 295 career wins vs. only 135 losses.  Justin made 705 appearances with 612 of those being starts. Justin held opponents to a .219 batting average with a .274 obp and a .325 slugging percentage.  He is 5th all time in strikeouts with 3584 and had a career whip of 1.06 with a 2.69 era.  Justin Jordan won 15+ game 12 times and was twice a 20 game winner.
