Season 26 Preseason Power Rankings
A new season is upon us and spring training has just concluded, so it's time for the preseason power rankings! The preseason rankings are toughest to complete, as when the rosters are grabbed for analysis, sometimes they aren't fully complete. But nonetheless, we bring you these rankings. The winner of the preseason #1 honors is none other than Charlotte, who went 91-71 last season, and who ranked out #2 in starting pitching and #1 in hitting. Where do the rest fall? Check out the below. Good luck to all in Season 26!

Old | New | Contract | |||||
Rank | Player | Pos | Age | Team | Team | Amount | Years |
1 | Hector Iglesias | SP | 30 | CH1 | LOU | $67.5 M | 5 |
Comments: In a not-so-great SP FA class, he is the cream of the crop
2 | John Greer | LF | 31 | NOR | OTT | $28.0 M | 3 |
Comments: Our top rated hitter has raked to the tune of a .900 career OPS
3 | Jarrod King | RF | 30 | DUR | CH1 | $37.0 M | 4 |
Comments: Great all-around hitter and pretty good on the basepaths too
4 | Al Hughes | LF | 30 | HEL | HEL | $40.0 M | 5 |
Comments: Solid hitter who crushes lefties and is serviceable in a pinch at 2B
5 | Harry Pujols | SP | 30 | BUF | LOU | $20.8 M | 4 |
Comments: A nice SP with just good, not great splits being only weak point
6 | Ollie Keppel | SP | 33 | NB | NOR | $3.9 M | 3 |
Comments: Another solid SP, but may be slightly vulnerable against RH batters
7 | Patrick Grieve | 2B | 32 | NB | SYR | $11.0 M | 2 |
Comments: Can get on base and excellent speed/baserunning, age is a slight concern
8 | Kenneth Shave | DH | 30 | HEL | NOR | $4.2 M | 3 |
Comments: Solid across the board hitting, yet not spectacular, probably ok at 1B or LF
9 | Alex Bonilla | SP | 29 | ROC | MTY | $21.6 M | 4 |
Comments: Excellent ratings all around, but low stamina will limit his innings
10 | Junior Won | SP | 33 | NB | DUR | $13.8 M | 3 |
Comments: Solid lefty hurler, despite average RH split, but can eat some innings
11 | Norm Hodges | CF | 33 | SLC | RIC | $26.6 M | 4 |
Comments: Great glove in CF, can get on base and run, but range declining with age
12 | Miguel Armas | 3B | 32 | SYR | SYR | $5.1 M | 3 |
Comments: Speedy 3B with plus fielding attributes who has put up some nice numbers
13 | Pablo Perez | SP | 29 | DET | DUR | $30.6 M | 5 |
Comments: Nice ratings, but low stamina and gives up fly balls, solid otherwise
14 | Alex Lawrence | RP | 29 | HON | NO | $4.6 M | 1 |
Comments: The top RP on the board, age is a plus, and pretty solid ratings overall
15 | Carlos Santos | SP | 31 | NO | SFE | $5.2 M | 2 |
Comments: Stamina is slightly low, and splits are average, but everything else is good
16 | Yoshinori Chang | SP | 36 | CH1 | NOR | $2.2 M | 2 |
Comments: Solid lefty with a nice track record, but age is a concern with him
17 | Bo Edmonds | RP | 37 | CH2 | BOI | $10.0 M | 2 |
Comments: Still an excellent RP at age 37, should still have a few nice seasons left
18 | Carmine Cashman | SP | 34 | HON | NAS | $5.2 M | 1 |
Comments: Great track record, despite fly ball tendency, but low stamina for an SP
19 | Mandy Mahler | CF | 36 | SEA | LOU | $4.4 M | 2 |
Comments: Looks to still be solid hitting and running, but age is bound to set in
20 | Gerardo Guerrero | 2B | 30 | CHA | BUR | $1.0 M | 1 |
Comments: Decent hitter with plus speed/baserunning, but low contact will result in K's
21 | Julio Mairena | RP | 35 | HON | DUR | $8.8 M | 2 |
Comments: Very good RP with nice ratings, could be decent in Setup A or closer role
22 | Steve Miller | CF | 32 | LR | OTT | $20.8 M | 3 |
Comments: Excellent batting eye and runs the bases well, he can be useful
23 | Yorrick Stilson | 1B | 26 | CHA | ATL | $8.4 M | 3 |
Comments: Solid hitter who could find a role, but limited in the field, which curbs his value
24 | Barry Aspromonte | DH | 29 | HEL
Comments: His power bat could help someone, but he can't play the field at all
25 | Deivi Perez | 2B | 29 | ROC | ROC | $15.3 M | 3 |
Comments: Nice hitter with a solid track record, but RH split and eye are low |
